Kelly Everett of Vienna, has been named Financial Aid Director at South Georgia Technical College announced President Dr. John Watford. Her appointment was effective immediately. She will report to SGTC Vice President of Administrative Services Lea Coe.

   Everett has been working in the South Georgia Technical College Financial Aid office since 2007. She has been with South Georgia Tech since 2003. She began her career on the Crisp County Center campus as an accounting technician. She was promoted to the Financial Aid Technician position at the Crisp County Center in 2007 and in 2015 was promoted again to a Financial Aid Specialist working on both the Americus and the Crisp County Center campuses.

   “We are very pleased to be able to offer the Financial Aid Director position to Kelly Everett,” said President Watford. “She is very qualified and extremely knowledgeable about the financial aid processes and the college. She is an asset to the college and we look forward to working with her in this new capacity in the financial aid department.”

   Everett earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2003. She was on the Dean’s List and was a recipient of the National Collegiate Business Merit Award and a recipient of the Collegiate All-American Scholar Award. She also has an associate of Applied Science in Technology Management from GSW and an accounting diploma from South Georgia Tech. At South Georgia Tech, she was the recipient of the Hyliard Bryant Williams and Servetus Allen Williams scholarship and a member of the National Technical Honor Society.

   As the Financial Aid Director, Everett will be responsible for directing the financial assistance program for the technical college and providing information to prospective and enrolled students about the financial aid processes and opportunities. She will be responsible for all financial aid awards. Her duties will also involve preparing and analyzing reports, communicating with federal and state financial aid program personnel, and overseeing the federal work study program and veteran’s programs/opportunities.

   “I am very excited and honored by the opportunity to serve as the Financial Aid Director for South Georgia Technical College,” said Everett. “The Financial Aid office plays a critical role in supporting student retention and academic success by informing students of available financial resources and of the academic responsibilities that are required to retain eligibility for financial aid.”

   Everett is replacing Carrie Wilder of Ellaville who served as the Financial Aid Director at South Georgia Technical College since 2014. She has accepted a new position in Columbus.

   Kelly and her husband, David, live in Vienna and have one son, Logan, 9.
