The Electrical Lineworker program advisory committee at South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) recently met in the John M. Pope Industrial Technology Center on the Americus campus to review and discuss key elements of the program and its alignment with industry standards.

During the meeting, committee members spoke with SGTC Academic Dean Brett Murray, WIOA Coordinator Sandhya Muljibhai, and Economic Development Assistant Tami Blount. Topics of discussion included program admission requirements, course content and duration, student learning outcomes, and a review of industry-specific equipment and objectives.

Attendees included instructors Harold Ergle and Dewey Turner, as well as industry representatives Nick Pandolfi of Flint Energies and Jason McInvale of Georgia Power.

The advisory committee plays a critical role in helping SGTC ensure its programs remain current and effective in meeting the needs of employers in the college’s seven-county service area and beyond. By serving as a direct link between the college and the workforce, the committee provides valuable insight into evolving industry trends and expectations.
