The South Georgia Technical College Adult Education and GED testing staff participated in a required professional development training recently with 19 full-time and part-time faculty and staff members, announced SGTC Dean of Adult Education Lillie Ann Winn.

Susan Pittman from Brevard, North Carolina, was the professional development speaker.  Pittman is an experienced adult educator and nationally recognized training.  She is the CEO of E-Learning Connections, Inc., an educational consulting firm that she started in 2001.  She specializes in providing professional development for teachers who work with Adult Basic Education and GED level students.

Pittman works collaboratively with the GED Testing Service to design, develop and deliver professional development with an emphasis on instructional strategies across content areas.  She also develops and co-facilitates the GED Testing Service’s Tuesdays for Teachers webinars.

Following the professional development session, the SGTC Adult Education faculty and staff participated in its monthly meeting.

“This was a great opportunity for our instructors and staff to learn new teaching strategies and testing accountability,” said Winn.
