South Georgia Technical College’s Air Conditioning Technology class recently had Matt Lane, Sales Manager of SafeAire, come and speak with students. He spoke to instructor Glynn Cobb’s class about how rewarding a career in the HVAC field could be for them and what kinds of jobs they could apply for after graduation from South Georgia Technical College.

Matt Lane is the sales manager at SafeAire’s Albany location. Lane has served as a chairman of the Air Conditioning Technology advisory committee at South Georgia Tech.

SafeAire is a company who serves residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout Southwest Georgia. They have office locations in Americus, Albany and Cordele. The company manufactures, diagnoses, repairs, and installs heating and air systems.

“We really appreciate Matt taking time out of his busy schedule to talk to our students about the industry,” said instructor Glynn Cobb, “and we’re thankful for all the support SafeAire has offered to the program.”

The Air Conditioning Technology program is a sequence of courses that prepare students for careers in the air conditioning industry. The program emphasizes a combination of air conditioning theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive an Air Conditioning Technology diploma and have the qualification of an air conditioning technician.
