“The safety of our students and employees is important,” said South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford.  “South Georgia Technical College works hand and hand with our local law enforcement agencies and we appreciate the support that we receive from our neighboring officers and agencies.  But having certified officers on-campus allows SGTC officials to immediately respond to any disruptive incidents on our campus quickly and therefore provide faculty, staff, and students with a greater level of safety.”

SGTC has a staff of both certified police officers and campus safety officers on the Americus and Crisp County Campus.  The full-time SGTC Police Department consists of Chief Calvin Hodge, Jr. and Officer Matthew Perrine.  Joseph Drew, David Rueda-Fierros, and Bradley Small serve as part-time officers.  Chief Hodge also serves as the Director of Campus Safety and oversees the Campus Safety staff that includes Latasha Ingram and Tawanna Williams as well as part-time campus safety officers Priscilla Bridges, Gregory Sims, David Stone, Jaquasia Jones and Phillip Jones.  The campus safety officers on the Crisp County Center campus are Bryan Hodge and Anthony Davis.
