South Georgia Technical College is proud to recognize three outstanding students who recently competed in the 2025 National SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta. Representing the best of SGTC’s talent and dedication, these students earned high rankings on a national stage:
A’Neya Mack placed 6th in the nation in Technical Computer Applications. Hayden Tucker earned 7th place in Aviation Maintenance. Blake Archer ranked 11th nationally in CNC 3-Axis Milling.
These impressive finishes underscore the high caliber of SGTC’s training programs and the exceptional commitment of its students. SkillsUSA Advisor Brenda Gilliam shared her pride: “I am so proud of them and how they represented SGTC at the conference!”
With 33 students already signed up for the next SkillsUSA season, Gilliam is encouraging even more participation for 2026.
“Let’s build on this momentum. Early sign-ups give us time to train, prepare materials, and help even more students compete and win.”
SkillsUSA is a collaborative effort between students, educators, and industry professionals, aimed at strengthening America’s skilled workforce. It serves middle school, high school, and college/postsecondary students pursuing careers in trade, technical, and skilled service fields—including health care.
Each year, hundreds of students compete in SkillsUSA events at the local, regional, and state levels. Only first-place winners from each category move on to represent their state at the national level.
Alongside competition, students are encouraged to participate in leadership development workshops designed to prepare them for successful careers.
At South Georgia Technical College, SkillsUSA is another way are creating opportunities for students.
