South Georgia Technical College’s Crisp County Center (CCC) campus showed their school spirit recently during the college’s annual Spirit Week event.

Teresa Jolly’s business technology program was awarded the title of “most spirited program” and an in-class party after showing 100 percent participation in each of the designated dress-up days.

The week, sponsored by the campus’ Student Government Association (SGA) chapter, called for students to dress-up for four different days throughout the week – hat day, team day, tacky day and SGTC red and black day. SGA officers and members visited classrooms each day to judge participation. While the business technology took the top spot, the medical assisting and practical nursing programs came in a close second and third place for their outstanding participation.

Judges for the week and SGA members included Desiray Kenney, president; Kimberly Trejo, vice president; Evelyn Castleberry, Secretary; Kennedy Allen, Parliamentarian; Scotteshia Adkison, Samantha Campbell, Christopher Mathews, Katherine Murphy and Allysia Oliver.

The purpose of the week was to have fun while engaging the entire CCC campus and encouraging them to join a student organization.

The Student Government Association consists of a representative from each program. From the representatives, five officers are selected and serve a one-year term. The SGA meets the first Wednesday of every month to approve expenditures of student activity fees, coordinate activities, and address issues of concerns to students.

SGTC’s student clubs organize several fun events for students each month.
