South Georgia Technical College has 13% enrollment growth for Fall semester
South Georgia Technical College enrolled over 2000 students for Fall Semester and enrollment climbed 13% higher than Fall Semester 2024, announced South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. The college also saw a 19.1% growth in full-time equivalent (FTE) percentage growth, which was the third highest in the Technical College System of Georgia.
“I am thrilled to see the enrollment increase,” said SGTC President Dr. John Watford. “Especially during this time when employers are looking for more qualified skilled professionals with the technical training that South Georgia Tech provides. SGTC was ranked as one of the top 25 Technical Colleges in the nation by U.S.A. Today and we offer students ‘the Complete College Experience’ while providing exceptional workforce education.”
The Technical College System of Georgia enrolled 117,714 students Fall semester 2025 which is a 4.6% increase over Fall 2024. It also reported an 8.0% overall percentage growth in credit hours and full time equivalent (FTE) over last Fall. South Georgia Technical College exceeded the overall system average in both categories.
South Georgia Technical College also saw an increase in enrollment summer semester. The college reported a 4.2% increase in enrollment from Summer 2024 as well as an 8.3% increase in credit hours over the previous summer semester. This is the fourth consecutive enrollment increase at South Georgia Technical College.
