Moultrie, GA – South Georgia Technical College in Americus was one of the over 1,200 vendors who took part and set up an exhibit at the 2021 Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie.  The Sunbelt Ag Expo was canceled for the first time ever last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic but large numbers of individuals, high school students, and business and industry leaders were on hand this year.

“This is a wonderful event to be able to showcase our college and our programs of study,” said South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford.  “We look forward to participating in this event every year, because we know that many of the students who visit the Expo are students who want to gain the technical skills needed to work with their hands and their minds.  South Georgia Technical College has partnerships with Caterpillar, John Deere, Georgia Power, and Delta and many others.  This is a great place for us to recruit individuals that want to work in careers offered by these Fortune 100 and 500 companies.”

The Sunbelt Ag Expo is the largest agriculture event in Southwest Georgia and North America’s Premier Farm Show.  It has a $16 million impact on the 20-county region surrounding Moultrie and Colquitt County.

The event featured over 1,200 commercial exhibitors with over 4,000 product lines that feature the latest goods and services, technological savy and labor-saving devices.  In addition to the exhibitors and vendors, the Ag Expo features a 600-acre working research farm where manufacturers and dealers can demonstrate their latest developments.  A multitude of free seminars and demonstrations are also held each day.

South Georgia Technical College offers students the “Complete College Experience,” and is one of only two technical colleges in Georgia with on-campus housing.  SGTC has been named the top community college in Georgia for the third consecutive year and is nationally recognized in academics, intercollegiate athletics, and student activities.
