   South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) will be hosting an in-person registration for Summer Semester on Tuesday, May 21 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the Americus campus and at the Crisp County Center in Cordele.  Summer semester classes begin Thursday, May 23 and it is not too late to sign up for the shortened summer semester.

   “This is an awesome opportunity for individuals to enroll in college classes,” said South Georgia Tech President John Watford.  “The Summer term is only eight weeks long and South Georgia Technical College provides students the use of text books at no cost.  There has never been a better time to enroll.  Many students will be eligible for the HOPE Grant, HOPE Scholarship, or Federal financial aid and will be able to attend at no personal cost.”

    Nearly 400 courses will be offered online or in-person for the eight-week summer semester which begins May 23.  South Georgia Technical College is also offering a number of general core courses including English, Literature, College Algebra, Economics, Art and Music Appreciation, Political Science, and History classes.

   On the Americus campus, students report to the welcome table in the Odom Center between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to receive their registration sheet.  They will then go to the Pope Center to see their advisory in the Pope Center for advising and registration.  Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. for registering students.

   The college offers a number of services including academic counseling and tutoring that will help students navigate summer semester. The financial aid application can be completed online, but assistance is only an email or phone call away for students with questions.  Online video presentations are also available for students on the SGTC website at
