Student Affairs Jets win SGTC Intramural Basketball challenge
In the rematch pitting the South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Campus Safety Jets Champions against the Student Affairs Jets in an SGTC Intramural Basketball Challenge as part of Homecoming Week, SGTC Student Affairs Vice President Eulish Kinchens finally got her revenge over SGTC Police Chief Calvin Hodge and his Campus Safety Jets.
Prior to the Fall Semester break last semester, only two points decided the winner of the South Georgia Technical College Student Affairs intramural basketball tournament that pitted SGTC Police Chief Calvin Hodge and the Campus Safety Jets against Vice President of Student Affairs Eulish Kinchens and the Student Affairs Jets. However, this semester, Student Affairs Jets got their revenge in a 60 – 38 decision.
The SGTC Student Affairs Jets captured the Intramural Basketball Tournament title after turning a 30 – 19 half-time lead into the 60 – 38 victory in a game filled with lots of good ole fashioned basketball fun and a little trash talking.
The members of Eulish Kinchens winning Student Affairs Jets were: Jamari Childs, Mackeda Hubbard, Aaron Willmann, Darrell Goolsby and Dallas George. The members of Chief Hodge’s Campus Safety team were: Deshawn Wiggins, Tayshawn Prince, Arkwann Kitchen, Ar’Tavius Warren and Kenneth Pough.
SGTC students signed up to participate in the intramural basketball tournament and then the two teams were selected based on a draw, but players from the first game got to remain with their original coach. Each coach drew a players’ name in an effort to help keep the two teams competitive.
Members of the SGTC 2025 -2026 Jets basketball team served as the referees and scorekeepers for the event that was filled with three-point shots, lay-ups, and foul shots along with great coaching from Police Chief Hodge and Student Affairs Vice President Eulish Kinchens. Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs Joshua Curtin had the final say on controversial calls or questions.
