The best cosmetologists never stop learning
Orlando, FL – Approximately 15 South Georgia Technical College cosmetology students, instructor trainees, and instructors attended the 2019 Premiere Orlando International Beauty Event at the Orlando/Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL recently.
“This was a great opportunity for the South Georgia Technical College cosmetology students who were in their last semester of college,” said South Georgia Technical College Cosmetology Instructor Dorothea Lusane McKenzie. “This event allowed the students to see how many career opportunities they have with a Master Cosmetologist license. It was also a great way to allow them to dream and use their imagination.”
The SGTC cosmetology students who attended the field trip included: Troynasha Butts, Ansley Crittenden, Chasidy Dawson, Jasmine Dean, Tyteuna Donaldson, Jessica Emery, Leondrea James, Ladosha Thomas, Morgan Tomblin, Crystal Waters, Mercedez Collier, Najayla Williams, and Kaylie Smith. Shantray Ross, Instructor trainee, Instructor Sam Willis and Instructor Dorothea McKenzie also attended the event.
The students had the opportunity participate in classes and see the unlimited possibilities that the cosmetology industry has for licensed professionals. Student Jasmine Dean said she was “inspired about the business side of the industry, particularly how the choices you make now will determine how successful you will be.” Another student, Chasidy Dawson, learned that in the cosmetology industry, “you should always strive to be a good person all around.” Another student, Morgan Tomblin, said she was “excited about trying new and different techniques with color and achieving great trendy results.”
