Valerie Hines named SGTC Library Services & Technology Coordinator for Crisp County Center
Valerie Hines of Americus has been selected as the Library Services and Technology Coordinator for the South Georgia Technical College Crisp County Center in Cordele, announced Dr. John Watford. Her new position is effective immediately and she will report to Dean of Enrollment Management Services Julie Partain as well as Vice President of Academic Affairs David Kuipers with shared responsibilities to SGTC Information Technology Director Diane Trueblood.
Hines has been working at South Georgia Technical College since February 2008 in the Resource Development/Marketing office. She began her career at SGTC as a Resource Development/Marketing Specialist and then was promoted to Resource Development/Marketing Coordinator in August 2014.

As the SGTC Library Services & Technology Coordinator for the Crisp County Center, Hines will direct and coordinate a comprehensive library program, which includes a media center. She will also develop library and information resource goals and objectives, provide library instruction to students, assess and create reports related to library functions and work to coordinate media center materials and training programs as well as maintain up-to-date library resource collections. She will ensure accuracy and consistency of web site material and perform daily maintenance, manage content, design, layout and scheme for the site using current web technologies.
Hines will also assist with web site development and management, ensuring page owners can perform maintenance and updates of web pages, and respond to internal/external customer concerns regarding the website. She will work with IT to ensure that all computer hardware, peripherals, and other equipment necessary for the administrative and academic needs of the Crisp County Center are identified, investigated, inventoried and maintained as well as provide support with the network infrastructure, email systems, database systems, server computers and end user computers.
Valerie is a 2007 graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) with a Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration in Marketing and earned a Master’s of Business Administration from GSW in 2017. She resides in Americus and is active in the community. She is the daughter of Winford and Shelia Hines of Americus.
