GSW to honor Watford’s with Family Legacy award as outstanding alumni

   South Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford, his wife, Barbara; their son, Mark; and Dr. Lettie Watford, will be honored by Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) as some of its most “outstanding alumni.”

    Dr. John Watford, his sister, Dr. Lettie Watford, and Barbara and Mark Watford are all graduates of Georgia Southwestern State University and will be honored as the GSW Family Legacy Award recipients on Saturday, February 22nd during GSW’s annual Outstanding Alumni Awards Dinner in the Thomas O. Marshall, Jr., Pavilion of the Marshall student Center.

   Dr. Watford graduated from GSW in 1986 and 1989, Barbara Watford graduated in 1985 and 1989, their son, Mark graduated in 2013.  Dr. Lettie Watford received her degree in 1982 from GSW.

   The Legacy Award is a new award and it features the Watford Family as its first recipients.  “With four family members across two generations graduating from Georgia Southwestern and seven GSW degrees between them, the Watford family have established themselves as leaders in local high education and workforce development.
