Macon, GA – The South Georgia Technical College Lady Jets traveled to Macon Saturday for a conference game against Central Georgia Technical College but a surge by the Lady Titans in the second half left the Lady Jets with their third conference loss of the season, 67 – 63.

This is the first time in three-years that the Lady Jets have suffered three conference losses.  The Lady Jets lost three games to Georgia Highlands in 2021 – 2022 when Georgia Highlands finished second in the nation. Both teams went to the NJCAA national tournament that season.

The Lady Jets are currently in fourth place in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) with a 3 – 3 record.  They are 10 – 8 overall.  East Georgia is currently in first place with a 4 – 0 record.  Central Georgia Tech is second at 5 – 1 and Albany Tech is in third place with a 4 – 2 performance.

South Georgia Tech was up 15 – 14 at the end of the first quarter and went up 29 – 25 at the half.  However, Central Georgia Tech came back in the second half and outscored the Lady Jets 25 – 16 in the third quarter.  That nine-point scoring comeback was enough to give them the 67 – 63 decision.

Freshman guard Mio Sakano was the only Lady Jet in double digits with 20 points.  Isabel Bueno, Greta Carollo, Eno Papin, and Maeva Fotsa all scored eight points each and then Vera Gunaydin tossed in seven points.  Maria Favero and Destiny Bishop closed out the scoring with three and one points.

Enola Pain was the top rebounder for the Lady Jets with 12 and Mio Sakano was close behind with 11 to end up with a double-double on the night ( 20 points and 11 rebounds).

The Lady Jets travel to Swainsboro Wednesday with the Jets for a double-header against East Georgia State College.  The Lady Jets open at 5:30 and the Jets follow at 7:30.  Both the Jets and Lady Jets will host Central Georgia Tech on Saturday, January 27th at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the Hangar.
