The South Georgia Technical College Marketing 2090 class, taught by Instructor Mary Cross, will be conducting a research project survey about the college’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) on Tuesday, February 6th and Wednesday, February 7th in Americus and on Tuesday, February 13th at the SGTC Crisp County Center.
Students will be conducting the survey’s in Hicks Hall on the Americus campus from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. both days and would like for students, faculty, and staff to participate. The survey’s will be conducted in each hallway on the Crisp County Center campus from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13th.
South Georgia Technical College’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a comprehensive plan adopted to improve student learning, engagement, and success. The college adopted “READ” or “Reaching Every Academic Dream” as its QEP. The READ QEP is being conducted in conjunction with the college’s reaffirmation process by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), a regional accrediting body for institutions of higher learning.
The SGTC Marketing students will be asking individuals to identify themselves as faculty, staff or students. If the individual is a student, they will ask how many semesters they have been enrolled, and if they are attending the Americus or Crisp County Center campus and if they are a dorm or commuting student. The next question will ask if the individual is aware of the QEP and if so, how were they informed about the QEP READ project. This can include: social media, student organizations and clubs, print media, group forum, instructors or teachers, or campus signage.
The next question will ask if they have noticed the QEP/READ signs on campus and if they are aware of what QEP and READ mean.
“I am very pleased that our marketing students will have the opportunity to conduct a survey that can have a positive impact on the college’s QEP READ project,” said SGTC Marketing Instructor Mary Cross. “Our goal is to determine how many SGTC faculty, staff and students are aware of the Quality Enhancement Plan as well as use this as a learning experience for my students while introducing the QEP to students who need to gain a better understanding of the QEP READ initiative on both SGTC campuses.”
