The South Georgia Technical College nationally ranked Lady Jets moved to 16 – 2 overall and 8 – 0 in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) standings with an impressive 108 – 54 victory over the Andrew College Lady Fighting Tigers Saturday. The Jets tried to make it a clean sweep, but they fell 86 – 71 to Andrew’s men in their second conference game of the new year to drop to 4 – 12 overall and 0 – 2 in the conference.
The women’s game was never in doubt as the Lady Jets surged to a 58 – 27 half time lead and turned that into a 54-point victory. This is the second time this season that the Lady Jets have scored over 100 points in 40 minutes. The first was in December at Andrew when the Lady Jets took a 102 – 31 victory over the Lady Fighting Tigers.
Four Lady Jets were in double digits in that contest with sophomore forward Ricka Jackson leading the way with 16 points in 16 minutes on the court.
