February 7, 2017

CUTHBERT, GA – Freshman guard Kanna Suzuki from Hamamatsu, Japan, scored 28 points to lead the South Georgia Technical College Lady Jets to an 80 – 69 victory over Andrew College in Cuthbert recently.
The nationally ranked National Junior College Athletic Association Lady Jets are now 8 – 0 in the Georgia Athletic Association Conference and 20 – 3 overall. The Lady Jets are the only unbeaten team in the GCAA Division I standings.
The Lady Jets fell behind in the opening quarter against a very aggressive Andrew College team. Andrew was up 16 – 12 at the end of the first quarter but the Lady Jets bounced back in the second quarter to go up 38 – 33 at the half. They never allowed Andrew to regain the lead and took the 80 – 69 decision.
Suzuki had an awesome game hitting six of 10 three-point shots, four of her six free throws and three of six regular field goals.
